Seeing through the eyes of a bird
Always speaking but never heard
Navigating this industrialized land
My, how things have gotten out of hand
Searching for remnants of a long forgotten flock
Searching for seeds on this cold, desolate rock
The smog air polluting my lungs as I search
While bipedals spread their poison to my Birch
At last, a seed I find worth eating
A summer’s gift, a summer’s greeting
Soaring amongst the clouds on this mid-summers day
I spot my flock flying just a few yards away
