Greeted by a flirtatious grin
Assumed that the mind was closed but still admitted in
Introduced to a heart and world that was once cold
A beauty nevertheless to behold
Yearning for righteous attention but too afraid to express
Years of abuse, torment and mounting stress
Persistence while putting up a resistance and being pursued
Fear inhabiting a weary soul; afraid of exploitation
A simple hello initiating the conversation
Platonic friendship materializing into something serious
Living in an insomniac’s paradise to watch the sunrise just to be curious
