This is a place where users can communicate with administrators, or administrators with one another. You can report vandalism, problematic users, or anything else that needs an administrator's intervention. Do not report child pornography or other potentially illegal content here; e-mail legal-reports@wikimedia.org instead. If reporting threatened harm to self or others also email emergency@wikimedia.org.

Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.


Report disputes with users that require administrator assistance. Further steps are listed at resolve disputes.


Reports that do not suit the vandalism noticeboard may be reported here. Requests for page protection/unprotection could also be requested here.


Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

This file is my own work. It is a highly viewed map file, I'm requesting auto patrol protection for it so that edit warring can be avoided on its different revisions while still being updated by well established editors. Ecrusized (talk) 22:23, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Ecrusized: I don't see any sign of edit warring or vandalism. Also, I question your 22:25, 2 December 2024 upload of what seems to be a quite different file. As you say, this is highly viewed, and it doesn't seem appropriate to change to a very different map, covering a much wider area. Seems to me that should be a distinct map, even if you think it is now important to show what is happening in the south. - Jmabel ! talk 01:05, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    I understand your concerns. I have requested auto patrol protection pre-emptively to prevent any edit/revert warring that may arise in the future, similar to the Hamas-Israel war map. The old map had became unusable as the scope of the offensive expanded beyond its border, and like you've pointed out, its showing the south, and the SDF offensive in eastern Deir ez-Zor region that started today. Although you are probably right that it should be added as a separate file due to being vastly different from the old ones. Ecrusized (talk) 08:49, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please block Camiyabril for continuing to upload copyright violations in spite of multiple warnings. Take also a look at the archived discussions 1, 2, 3. There are pictures of soccer kits that are debatable, but also many copyright violations regarding portraits of soccer players, and the user doesn't stop.
