Culinary Artist by Donna J. Sanders

We ponder

what darkness

motivates humanity

to commit vile deeds

a selected few

snipped like herbs

minced like edible weeds

simmering in cauldrons

they become prey

for Lucifer’s feast

not the crimson chef

drawn with horns

and a fiery exhale

but a culinary artist

tempting them with

his savory cocktails
