I Am
star spangled in
tattered flag
a sun baked dream
just as beautiful and gracious as the others
though a slandered hand Iâve seen
I am ragtime attempting to alter the anthem of complacency
a fabled boy blue trumpeting for the pie stuffed melted pot
America she claims to be.
