There was once a place for hands
open hands
home sick hands
There was once a place for purpose
a sweet place for the lips surface
a sun warmed house a garden vast
Chances are the grass on the other side
not as vibrant as you imagined
not as advertised
lackluster in color
You failed to see the warmth
of summer in her eyes
now brown signifies
the season of your fall
and winter reminds you of
The mistake
frozen stiff in your
lonely heart
