Introducing: Tony Haynes
Tony Haynes is the preeminent practitioner of Acrostic Poetry. In less than a minute, he can literally pull a poem out of thin air. Give him the title of what youâd like to call your poem and he will create it for you on the spot. The catch is he will write your name in the air then show you how the beginning of each line in the poem heâs creating spells the letters of your name downward. Itâs an eloquent combination of spontaneous penmanship and showmanship. The poem is being written down as he speaks it into existence. This way, the person heâs creating it for has an instant one-of-a-kind personalized gift that they can cherish for a lifetime.
Before Tony realized he had this rare poetic talent, he was and still is a prolific lyricist, songwriter, music publisher and record producer. In this capacity, Tony has accomplished a great deal. âSend A Little Love,â his first song, was recorded by the Spinners in 1981. Since then, Tonyâs songs have been recorded on over 200 albums, selling in excess of 60 million copies worldwide. These songs have earned him 60 gold and multi-platinum awards, as well as several ASCAP Awards. Songs from his Music Publishing catalogues include; Bobby Brownâs âGet Awayâ, Robert Palmerâs âHyperactiveâ, The Whisperâs âInnocentâ, Jeffrey Osborneâs âSheâs On The Leftâ, as well as songs recorded by Karyn White, Earth, Wind & Fire, Al Jarreau, Regina Belle, Troop, Go West, SOS Band, George Duke, Chante Moore, Evelyn Champagne King, Peabo Bryson, Kool & The Gang, The Temptations, Isley Brothers and many others. He has collaborated with the most successful writers and producers in the world. Tony also directed Chick Hearnâs play-by-play on Kid WBâs âSpace Jamâ audio adventure. For Hanna Barbera and Motown, Tony was an Executive Producer for âThe Flintstoneâs Motown Christmas.â For Mattel/Sony Wonder, he co-wrote âSlideâ, which appeared on Barbieâs âBeyond Pinkâ album.

In his present incarnation, Tony has added âspoken word artistâ to the hats he seems to juggle seamlessly. His current project is called âThe Pianist and The Poet. Itâs a collaboration with French composer, Stephane dâEsposito. This elegant and romantic production is distributed by Bungalo Records/Universal Music Group.
And last but certainly not least, Tony is also executive producing and creating original programming for television. He has several shows in development based on his novels and scripts.
