Poverty Signs
She arrived early to get her spot
She wondered would it rain or not
A wet day always made it pay
Poor old soul people would say
Don’t look too happy she was told
Make sure and shiver when you are cold
Children are where you make your mark
Move closer to where the parents park
Remember to remove the silver
A healthy plate will not deliver
Poverty signs means people’s sorrow
Maybe you will fly off home tomorrow
When day is done and you’ve got your pay
Remember the car’s parked far away
Maybe it’s told with tongue in cheek
Or maybe it is just the truth I speak
