Are you so quick to hate
based upon assumptions made?
Can you see beyond the surface…
to what lies within?
Why must you judge based on the color of my skin?
We are all more than what we appear to be.
More than any label or slur,
hurled in fear and misunderstanding.
Look in the mirror.
Study the image you see.
That person staring back…
is not only you, it’s me.
