And it was so clear, the long fingers pointing
The shadowy eyes from the dark, staring
And it was now clear, all she had said plainly
And it was painful how my guilt came to me daring
Those silent voices in my heart speaking
And there I stood, broken and regretting
I wished it had gone on well with her
That then our destinies would differ
But if the hand of time canât be turned back
Why then wouldnât my mind give me peace?
But haunt me still, even when I thought I meant well
Our lives are shaped, while eyes are faint
Our hands do write what our eyes have read
Our dreams do bring, what our eyes have seen
And our souls do long for what our hearts have loved
