Excerpt from “Poems Of Redemption” by Author Olawale Famodun
Belief
I canât fail the peaks to assail,
I can only spend moments of delay
Gasping to catch the breath I will find,
Snubbing the negatives and its kind.
It may be days, and after these, a day!
My head wonât taper to a tail
And those streams of forces
With wanton, vile voices
Will not drown me, I will sail.
I have overborne their tempest,
Itâs truly days, but after these, one day,
No custom worries me to rest,
Mine un-melted mind remains mine relay.
Not upset in my waiting
For the arrival of whatâs my relief â
Days, after this one day, after which day
No other one in rue, grating,
I wait, knowing Iâll receive my belief.
Before my days are half spent
Will I, my great change invent
