Excerpt from “Path To Serenity” by Author Isaiah Barber
IV, Voices in My head
The voices in my head
Wish they were dead
Where is my head
Donât have my bread
Cant stand
My hand
Mine is what could shine
But what is mine
Did it rhyme
No time
Closer and closer
Hot or cold
I need to fold
At last, Outcast
Cast aside
Canât ride
My side
The pain
The shame
The wounds need to heal
I need to feel
On my knees
Praying god would you please
Put my mind at ease
Wait a minute
Take a second
Could all these voices truly be me
Is everything I hear only me . . .
Is what I see the beast in me
Wait a minute
Donât do it
Forget it
Wait a second
Now I see
Itâs not me
Tis true
It was always you
