CRIME OF PASSION
How do I stop the chatter?
The repetitious voices
In this lifetime no right answers
Only cautious choices
Where would I be at this moment?
If north I would have turned
When south seemed the right decision
How was I to know Iâd get burned?
I wished for a knight in armor
I wished for a hand to hold
A courageous knight to rescue me
Daring, strong and bold
But the message I was sending
Didnât seem to coincide
I expected a fairy tale ending
It was up to the fates to decide
You appeared from out of nowhere
You said I caught your eye
Your words seemed so sincere somehow
I didnât question why
We made crazy love the first few years
No one could keep us apart
Even now as I write these lines
Thereâs still a place in my heart
That wishes things could be different
Wishes you could have stayed
Been more of the man I envisioned
Never letting the passion fade
But everything happens for a reason
Everything happens in time
Thank you for lessons learned in my life
Loving you was my only crime
