XI, Simply Me

Those closest to me
Didn’t understand
Words overflowing
Within my heart

The pushed and pulled
Tore me down
Till I was on the ground
They didn’t understand

The mystic wonders
Within my mind
It was easy
To cast me aside

All I wanted
Was to sing melodies
That’s within my heart
That this would be my life song

The judging words
They cut me deep
Now I’m here
In a pit of loneliness

But what that did
It gave me a fire
A burning desire
And it would inspire

A chain of words
They all unfold
Out of a world
Pouring out of me

I didn’t cave, stood brave
In what I’d be, that is simple me
