Barefooted she walks
Carrying the weight of the world in her womb
Striped of purity
Step after step
Walking the beating path of indiscretion
Her heart is racing
Self-worth gave way in the wind long ago
She pushes forward to forget

Burying the past
She continues to walk
Fighting her own inner demons
Until that which is dark
Becomes light
Belief in self
