When one become two
No burdens left undone
The children are still “ours”
In parenting 101
You can walk away . . .
And claim a new life for yourself
But don’t forget the kids
This is what our life is all about
We laid down and made a baby
That was the easy part to do
But when it comes to parenting
Will you be there and come through?
The choice is really yours
I can’t make you feel . . .
That your child is important
And counting on you still
Support to be paid
It was a court order
Just because you pay it
It doesn’t make you a father
So within this journey
And this hand I was dealt
I turned “two” back into “one”
Finding Mother and Father in myself
It really is too bad
You are completely missing out
I raised the greatest children
Our love stretches out . . .
