Stunted Growth
Neglected and discarded like yesterdayâs garbage
Witness to domestic conflicts and profane verbiage
A small wonder lost in an expansive world
In need of guidance; just ready to swirl
Out of control while being confined
Dumpster as my bed and boxes as my pillow is all I can find
Appetite for destruction and infatuated with the streets
Laying low for survival while law enforcement do their daily sweeps
Anger and an occasional sneer is my costume to mask the pain
Readying for redemption; yearning to be home again
Grown up now both physically and mentally
A recent graduate from Adversity University
Preparing for the future making it quite clearer
Gazing through the windshield and not the rear-view mirror.
